England Is Being Destroyed, from Within
As an old-fashioned Anglophile, the situation in England tears at my heart. Last August, unrest erupted which was a direct result of the government abusing its own people. Considering how the decades-long crime wave committed by migrants in Britain is so awful, the “2-tier” biased punishment against white British people is so unjust, and the cold disregard of the current regime for those British natives is so comprehensive, it’s surprising that white working-class people did not rise up earlier than they did.
What sparked the rioting and other unrest in England last year was the vicious murder in Southport of three small white girls, by a son of Rwandan immigrants. The murderer also severely maimed several other people. In the face of government inaction, obstruction, and deceitfulness, and following the long-term disregard of public concerns, whites in working-class England boiled over. As a result, several of them were arrested, many of whom had only expressed understandable outrage online. They were subjected to exceptionally harsh punishments, much harsher than those given to members of ethnic minorities who committed comparable crimes.
It has been a long, ugly process, getting to this point. All of the United Kingdom is being torn down, but especially England, since that is where most of the power lies, and where Magna Carta and the original Bill of Rights were adopted. Historian David Starkey was born in 1945 in northwest England. Recently he stated,
“The Britain I grew up in was the most peaceful, the most gentle, homogenous society that has ever existed. [It’s] why we did not need identity cards, why there were extraordinarily low levels of crime. Such high levels of public trust. That has been destroyed. It has been deliberately destroyed by Tony Blair and New Labour with this absurd notion that they were going to force us to become multi-ethnic for our good. They were going to rub the noses of the whites in the dirt. And so we’ve got to understand that. It is an act of such inconceivable national self-harm.”
Starkey himself was “cancelled” in 2020 for saying something which offended the panjandrums of Multiculturalism. He didn’t let that shut him up, though. For several years, he has been sounding the alarm about what has gone wrong in Britain, and what Britain can expect, which includes “sustained inter-ethnic conflict.”[i]
Tony Blair’s Labour government gained power in 1997. While it ruled, Britain was “fundamentally transformed,” as Barack Obama openly said was his goal for the USA. The British justice and parliamentary systems, which had evolved organically, were radically changed. “Diversity” policies were promoted and immigration was heavily increased. Religious and ethnic minorities were given special privileges, and allowed to self-police their communities. In white working class neighborhoods, though, residents are “not allowed to have a community. They are not allowed to have their community leaders consulted,” unlike the leaders in minority areas. [ii] As Starkey further described,
“We are actually reversing the developments which alone permit that greatest achievement of our government—proper equality before the law…. [And] we have clear, dramatic evidence, both written and video, of the reality of 2-tier policing.... We also have clear evidence that there actually is de jure, in law, 2-tier policing… 2-tier law…. It deliberately does not apply equally…. And it is designed, shockingly, to privilege certain groups…. How can it have happened that England, which is the country that pioneered freedom, which is the country that invented representative government, which is the country that gave these blessings to the rest of the civilised world—how come that it’s losing them first?”[iii]
The so-called “Conservative Party” governments which followed New Labour did nothing to reverse the damage. In fact they added to it. A legal abomination called “Non-Crime Hate Incidents” was codified, which has resulted in several peaceful, law-abiding people being harassed for expressing their views.
With the 2016 Brexit referendum, a majority of voters clearly showed that they favored returning sovereignty to Britain, which it had lost to the European Union. Yet nothing substantial was done to remove Britain from entangling international agreements that promote minority rights over those of the majority, to a severely destructive degree.
The current Labour government under Keir Starmer is doubling down on policies which harm native Britons. Massive illegal and legal immigration is still being permitted. And while ethnic minorities in Britain continue to be favored in various ways, and military and economic aid for other countries is being expanded, economic relief for white Britons is nowhere in sight, within a context of economic decline. An increased tax on farm properties is in the works, which has the potential to financially devastate many family farms. As in other western countries, most of the legacy media do their utmost to defend Multiculturalism and the establishment, and to denigrate any critics. Along with all of this, members of the current establishment in Britain are insulated from the adverse effects of their policies, with the ability to live away from high-crime areas. And further, in some cases they avoid justice, just like many members of ethnic minorities do who have been found guilty of crimes. Huw Edwards, a BBC news presenter who was guilty of serious sex offences, was given a suspended sentence in 2024. Such leniency doesn’t seem to be available to those from the white working classes who are found guilty by a court. The Traditional Britain Group has documented many cases of injustice on their Telegram channel.
One horrendous result of Multiculturalism in Britain has been the “grooming” and rape of an astounding number of white, working-class, underage girls by south-Asian migrant men, most of whom are Pakistani. This “grooming gang scandal” has occurred for decades. In just one town, Rotherham, over a thousand girls were victims. Authorities—police, social workers, and local government officials—often covered up the crimes to avoid being accused of racism.
Policing in Britain has drastically changed from the days when respected “bobbies” patrolled the streets, deterring crime by their presence. Police are now widely used for social engineering purposes. Police personnel spend much time and effort monitoring online content as they look for violations of Woke dogma. Outrageously, deterring and solving crime have become lower priorities. And as in America, where far-left prosecutors have wreaked havoc by allowing crime to run rampant, crimes are being ignored for political reasons. Shoplifting is an example, and people are noticing the terrible results. Also, according to historian Robert Tombs, “It emerged in 2023 that in half of England no burglaries had been solved for three years… The police… too often pander to fashionable elite priorities. The law must be consistently enforced without fear or favour.”[iv] Clearly, “without fear or favour” is an old ideal that is rejected by British authorities today.
Matt Goodwin is an academic who has researched nationalist and populist movements. His work is essential reading to understand the disastrous policies that England has been subjected to for some years now. On his Substack page, Goodwin has been openly warning about the state of the country. He also thoroughly reviews the injustices committed by British authorities, the harmful politicizing of all institutions, and the steep decline of British education. He describes “a creeping and increasingly unavoidable sense that we can simply no longer say what we want to say, we can no longer think what we want to think, and we can no longer tell others we are living in a truly free society….” Along with this…
“There’s been [Prime Minister] Keir Starmer and [Home Secretary] Yvette Cooper casually deriding much of the country as ‘far right’ at pretty much every available opportunity after concerned citizens merely dared to express forthright views about mass immigration, Islamism, and a glaring lack of social integration in our visibly fragmenting nation.” And, “more than a few of those citizens [have been] thrown into jail after sharing their views on social media in the privacy of their own home while actual hardened criminals were released early.”[v]
In a discussion with academic David Betz, a specialist on insurgencies and civil wars, journalist Peter Whittle mentioned how Woke institutions have been continually attacking British heroes of the past, along with beloved authors and artists such as Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens, and John Constable. Using a bit of academic lingo, Betz responded that “Iconic destruction is a perfectly well-known and understood strategy of insurgency…. Attack on totems is very destructive and very, very powerful, and it’s not coincidental. It’s quite deliberate.” Based on his study of several internal conflicts in other countries, Betz believes that a civil war or very violent insurgency is likely to occur in the United Kingdom within the coming 5 years. Considering how Muslims have already committed several violent attacks and set up “no-go areas,” one could say that a Muslim insurgency is already pretty well advanced.[vi]
In 1381, English peasants revolted as a result of new taxes, fixed wages and other injustices. One of their battle cries was “Death to all lawyers!”[vii] The peasants poured into London, and after much death and destruction, they were promised by the king that their demands would be met. These promises were broken by authorities, and the uprising was brutally put down. Through many years of steady effort, occasional rebellion, and reform, the English peasants and workers eventually won better lives for themselves. Many members of the English upper classes once understood the need for just, peaceful change, and during the Industrial Revolution several beneficial reforms were carried out. Such an approach coming from the privileged classes is a thing of the past.
With the vast destruction wrought by Globalists and Multiculturalists, it seems that we’re living in world-shaking times. So much has happened that seems unprecedented. When have there been ruling classes that hated and acted against their own people as thoroughly as the current ones do? It’s clear that a top priority for many of The Powers That Be is the repression and replacement of their native peoples. Legal and illegal migrants have been welcomed into countries all over the West. Around the year 1000 AD, Ethelred the Unready was an English king who was condemned for trying to buy off Danish Viking invaders, by “paying the Danegeld.” At least Ethelred eventually fought back. There have been many inept, tyrannical, and rotten governments in the past, but not quite the same as what we’ve been seeing in recent decades. David Starkey seems to agree on the results: “It is comparable to the fall of Rome.”[viii]
To end on a somewhat hopeful note, I like to remember a great British TV show, “Survivors,” from the 1970’s. Commenter Millennial Woes recently wrote a good overview of the program, which brought back many memories for me. “Survivors” tells the story of a group of British people who are trying to rebuild society after a worldwide catastrophe. One of the many things I like about the show is how it portrays an old-fashioned quality of Englishness that was once common: respect for individuals, balanced with close-knit community. For me, an unforgettable, moving scene is when a group of peaceful people from a newly-formed community, fearfully but with determination, carefully follow some violent interlopers who have taken away some children as hostages. The children are eventually rescued, and the criminals come to a bad end. In real life, the British people today are held in captivity by powerful figures who are doing them terrible harm. Maybe with some old-fashioned courage and determination, and God’s help, the British will free themselves.
A real hero emerged from the horrible Southport murders in 2024: John Hayes. When he heard screaming outside his office and was told that something terrible was happening, he rushed out and confronted the murderer, who stabbed him. Hayes wrestled with the murderer and was at least able to prevent more bloodshed.[ix] Some of the old English spirit survives.
